My son is wonderful with or without
Autism! I also know that each day can be a new challenge for him and I. Landon
does not know his name and at times cannot control his emotions when he is
frustrated or does not have the words to tell us what is wrong. This can be
especially prominent when we are in public. Meltdowns are going to happen and
people are going to stare. I am well aware of that. I am also aware that at
times I cannot always control the length or extent to Landon's impending
meltdown. We have had few occasions where people stop and stare and I am sure
make comments under their breath. I do not like to use my son's diagnosis as a
reason to get away with things or make excuses for him. I do however want
people to understand that my son cannot always control his surroundings or how
he reacts to them. My mom had found this shirt as well as a few other clothing
items for Landon to wear when we are in public settings. I have had him wear
his shirt and sweatshirt when I know a new surrounding or over stimulation from
surroundings may occur. This shirt will come in handy when we travel in March
since the airport and airplane will definitely be a new adventure for Landon.
