This past weekend we celebrated Landon's 3rd birthday with
our family and friends. Nana and Popo offered to hold the big bash at their
house this year. Our main goal was to help Landon feel comfortable and not to
overwhelmed. Nana strategically planned the whole thing thinking of Landon's needs.
She decided to move all of his toys and things down in the family room so that
he and Mckenna had a safe place to play. We then set up the dining room, living
room and kitchen as party central. We had about 25 family and friends attend
the big bash. I of course talked about the party with Landon to prepare him but
I am not sure he really understood me. I told Landon that his friend Mckenna
was coming to play with him but he did not believe me until he saw her walking
up and then he screamed "McKenna!!" We were able to get Landon to
come up stairs and open presents. He did so well and of course enjoyed opening
all of his presents. As soon as we were finished we sang Happy Birthday to
Landon. He again did great, he listened and watched and even attempted to blow
out his candle! Our little guy had a great birthday party and he did really
well. He seemed to have a blast. We thank everyone who came out and celebrated
with us!!
