Landon and TT after the Hawks Game!
Landon's ABA therapist suggested that we
continue to take Landon to Hawks games to get him use to the sounds and lights.
It is amazing to see a kid so excited about the Hawks at home and then completely
fearful at the United Center. There is something that freaks him out and he
just cannot enjoy himself. Nana, Popo and TT attempted to take him this time.
Unfortunately they did not have any better luck with him. He still freaked out
and did not spend anytime inside the arena watching the game. Nana and Popo took
turns hanging out with Landon on the main concourse. They even attempted to
bring him inside when he was asleep but the minute he woke up he started to get
scared and freak out so they brought him back out to the concourse.
Nana had even prepared a social story book
showing Landon all about the game and also showing him that there would be
"No Fireworks," but this did not seem to help. The therapist has also
suggested that we go to our local hockey rink during a practice game to get
Landon accustomed to the lights and sounds more often. Ben attended Landon's
first field trip to a hockey rink and noticed the same behavior. As soon as
they entered into the arena he freaked out and Ben and Landon had to leave to
sit out in the lobby. Our poor little buddy!
