People Watching at O'Hare Airport
My parents rented a house
for 2 weeks in Florida! My dad flew down with the kids and I on the way to
Florida while Ben drove the van! We knew this whole experience would be new for
Landon and Quinn so I came fully prepared. Our first adventure would be to get
through security with ALL of our things, car seat and children. Landon surprisingly
did well (pacifier in mouth of course) waiting in line and hanging out with
Popo (my dad). Quinn wanted to get down and crawl so she was a bit of a
challenge to keep in my arms until I could backpack her to me. Luckily we made
it through without too many problems and 2 happy children.
Once we arrived to the gate
I placed Quinn in Landon's car seat to feed her breakfast and dose her needed medicine.
Landon and Popo went for a walk of the terminal and enjoy some
"running" before being strapped into his car seat for two hours.
Before we knew it the time had come to board the plane. Begin the Landon
meltdown! We had a feeling going down the tarmac onto the plane would be a
cause for concern and that it was. Popo had to hold on tight and remind him
that he would be just fine. I luckily had Quinn backpacked to me so I had free
hands in case of a run-away. We got on the plane, found our seats, First Class,
First Row thanks to POPO! At this point Landon had a full meltdown, threw
himself down on the floor and refused to get in his car seat. I handed Popo
Quinn and took action. Nana had bought Landon a new sleeve of Hot Wheels Cars
so I took them out of the bag, placed them on his car seat and looked away. As
I prepared his seat with fruit snacks, juice, Pocoyo book and FEESH before I
knew it a certain 3year old had placed himself in his car seat! SUCCESS!! I
quickly strapped him in and we were set to go. Quinn fell asleep during takeoff
while Landon and Popo talked and played. As Quinn woke up from her nap, Landon
fell asleep. Before we knew it we were preparing for landing into Ft. Meyers!!
Landon was a bit nervous for take-off and landing and when the plane touched
down he screamed "All Done, Nice Job!," Which in Landon terms meant
he was done with the plane and it was time to get off. We gathered our things
and off we went to meet DADA!!
We arrived at our cute
little Spruce Street home on Marco Island Florida and Landon made himself at
home by eating fish, playing with his iPad, and a quick afternoon swim in his
very own backyard pool!!

We
could tell this vacation would be right up Landon's alley. The beach access was
a short walk from the house and we headed there on a daily basis if not a few
times throughout the day.
Nothing like a beautiful Florida sunset to end our first day on Marco!
