Our first
official Hawks Game as a COMPLETE family has FINALLY happened!! On Quinn's 1st
Birthday we went to the Hawks game with Nana and Popo. This would be Landon's
first game that we would encourage him to go into the arena and sit! We have
done a lot of practice with small ice rinks and Live Hawks practices. This was
the big day. We talked about this for a long time and came prepared with
distractions! We first went to dinner to celebrate baby girl's 1st birthday!!
Still cannot believe our little peanut is 1!
Happy Birthday Quinn Renee!
After
dinner we headed to the United Center. I carried Landon towards our seats. He
of course fought me (mildly) and said "NO, NO!" But I kept calm and
told him it was all OKAY! I continued down towards our seats and he tried to
leave, but I again told him it was okay. I handed him my phone and a bink as a
few "rescue" options. The big horn blew and out came the HAWKS to
warm up. His eyes got big and allowed us to hold him so he could see the boys
skate! He did not seem at all scared or shaking so we continued to get him to
stay and watch. Before we knew it the beginning routine of the Hawks movie
started, the lights went out and Landon's eyes were on the big screen. He
watched in awe and I had a feeling this was all going to be ok. Then his
favorite part happened...Jim Cornelison singing the National Anthem. He could
not decide where to look, the flag or Jim. As he got comfortable with his surroundings
he handed his bink and phone back to me and started to enjoy the game!! This was
such a proud moment for all of us!! All the hard work and talking to him has
paid off. He was able to enjoy the game and team he loves!!!
The Greatest Autistic Fan the Hawks could have!!
The entire family enjoying the Hawks Game!! That sure is a smile on my son's face!!
