All ready for school! Green Hockey Room here comes Landon Z!
My big boy!
So serious!
The
official first day of school arrived and I think mama was more nervous than
Landon. Seeing how the day before went at Meet-and-Greet I did not have high
hopes today would go any better. Nana was here this day to celebrate Landon's
1st official day of school. We prepared Landon ALL morning, talked all about
his teacher, his new classroom, as well as his schedule here at home. He of
course kept telling us "No School!" Once we got our big boy dressed
we headed outside for a few back to school pictures and then off to breakfast
to fill his belly before his big first day!
Of course we need an
appetizer before our main course...nothing like a SUGAR rush with 2 suckers in
the mouth at one time. Love my sensory kid. Landon ate LOTS of pancakes and was
in good spirits as we drove over to school. Landon is scheduled to take the bus
from our house in the mornings but some confusion happened so I was able to
drive him to his first day. We arrived at school a few minutes early to get in
some last minute pictures and prepare Landon for his big day. As his new
teacher came out to greet him our little man was NOT excited about leaving us.
He of course started to cry as she took his hand and walked away. Always breaks
my heart but I knew he would be ok once he got into his new classroom.
At school and waiting for his teacher....
Poor Landon!
Landon came
out of school happy and with no tears. His teacher said he did very well and
had stopped crying when he got into the classroom. He was so nervous he did not
eat any of his lunch. Of course I felt terrible. As a reward I took my buddy to
McDonalds to get his some FRIES and then to Target to of course pick a toy
(reasonable price of course)!
FRY-FRIES!!!
As usual this will take some time to get use to! It is a LONG day for Landon and so he needs to adjust. He took the bus for the first time this week and of course cried getting on. He did not struggle or fight me as he was crying. He sat nicely, let me strap him in, and said bye! I of course followed the bus to school. Yep I am that mom! I could tell he was calm, not crying, and enjoying his new high up view. The teacher informed me that he came off the bus just fine which is great!
Kudos to Landon for attempting new things and learning to adjust to change. So proud!!
