Sledding
with Tim and Nikki has always been a tradition for us. I have been sledding
with them for the past 10 years! We always have a blast and this year we were
able to introduce Landon and Quinn to our fun tradition! I knew getting Landon
ready to go would be a sensory meltdown! I hate to use the binky but I knew to
get him dressed in a calm matter desperate time’s call for desperate measures.
I of course told him what I was going to do and showed him what I was going to
put on him. This immediately led into a meltdown as he ran away for me. So I
turned on a pre-recorded Hawks game and handed him the binky. I put him on my
lap, quickly put on his snow pants followed by his boots. He cried and screamed
all right before a GOAL was scored. He stopped, screamed GOAL and started to
dance. Just like that he had forgotten what he had on. SUCCESS!!
SUCCESS! Snow Pants and Boots are on!
I
knew the next battle would be putting on the mittens but I figured by the time
we got to the sled hill that would not be an issue! So off we went kids and
sled in tow ready for our first sledding experience. I had a feeling this could
go really great or be a disaster. Luckily Kelly brought her camera since mine
was still in the shop! She was able to capture some wonderful moments from this
sledding experience. Landon and I had a blast! He had so much fun he could care
less about the cold or the snow. He let me put his mittens on and he loved to
sled with his mama!! Quinn was NOT a big fan of being in her snow suit or
sledding. Nana was there to help out and took Quinn back to the car to warm up
and undress her.
