Landon's Summer Fun Day at the Children's Museum!
This is
Landon's first official "Summer Vacation" from school and at times he
had a hard time with no routine on a daily basis. We would find he would
meltdown over the littlest thing or get easily frustrated. Nana incorporated a
few "circle time" readings and activities in the mornings when she
would come over. Landon has enjoyed the new books and activities that Nana has
incorporated!
I
believe if Landon could attend school every day he would really enjoy that. I
think next summer we will need to find a few more structured classes or social
groups for him to attend a few days a week during the summer. He has done an
amazing job once a week at ABA therapy and looks forward to going with Popo to
see Ms. Lisa! He has also enjoyed his Friday Speech days with Ms. Kathleen. I
think he looks forward to the structure and one-on-one time with his
therapists!
We try to
do fun summer outings and activities with Landon as much as we can. It helps to
keep the meltdowns at a minimum and attempting new things that use to frighten
him. The picture above is Landon riding on the carousel at the Zoo with Nikki
and me.
