Landon's First Minor Surgery

Landon was born with a dark skin mole on his lower back.  We have been monitoring it since he was born and it has been suggested that we have it removed.  We knew this would require a minor surgery so Ben and I decided it was time to remove it.  This mole has grown since Landon was born and knew the bigger it would get the more skin that would need to be removed.  Yesterday was the big day!  Landon was a great patient and did an amazing job!  He is such a strong kid and amazes me all the time.  Ben was able to go back with him before he fell asleep.  Once he had fully woken up they came back to get us.  He was NOT very happy about having an IV in but once he was able to eat and drink successfully they pulled that right out.  The surgery may have been the easy part because now we have to keep Landon from any large motor activities for the next 4 weeks.  No running, jumping, or climbing!  Ok as many of you know this is an impossible task to do for a 3year old boy!
We were not even home for an hour and he was already running and jumping.  We of course are doing our best to keep him calm and engaged in calm activities but he is just not having it!

He will go back in two weeks to have all the bandages and the outside stitches removed.  Hopefully he does not cause to much damage to his skin that is eagerly trying to heal.

Bye Bye Skin Mole...We had to take a picture!

Needed to bring THE CUP with us!!!  Such a dedicated HAWKS fan!

All ready to go into surgery!  Of course we have our binky to make us feel better!

Surgery ALL DONE!  Eating FEESH and Drinking JUICE!!  NOT liking that IV!
Today has been challenging for him.  No school, no running, no jumping, no climbing.  HE is all out of sorts and having a hard time adjusting.  For the 4th day in a row he has been up at 4:30a.m.!!  Mama and Dada are exhausted but our little man is full of energy.   He is starting to feel some minor discomfort and did fall asleep this morning.  Hopefully each day will get a little easier for him.  Unfortunately he is off of school for the rest of this week (due to parent-teacher conferences and Teacher Institute Day).
Feel Better Soon Landon!!!
