A couple of Friday's ago Landon's Speech Therapist brought him out of session early because she felt that he was just not feeling right. He had been "off" all week and his behavior was affected by it. He was being aggressive at home and at school. Melting down a little easier and some private time issues at home and school. Ben and I thought it was related to the new inhaler but when he came out of speech the light bulb moment happened. He was warm, eyes looked sick and he just wanted to be cuddled. I immediately thought he might have an ear infection so I took him to immediate care.
We were seen right away and was told he had a fever of 101.8 and possible strep throat. EEKS!
At immediate care with our sick little man!
We headed to Meijer to grab our antibiotic and to home we went. Landon had a rough time sleeping between the fever and aches he was just not himself. He spent a lot of time on the couch resting. He missed two days of school with a fever that would just not go away.
Lots of Couch time and Wallykazam
Cuddle-time with Jeter
By Wednesday I decided to run a few errands and get the kids out of the house. After the small meltdown at Target and passing out in the car after getting gas I knew something was just not right. I did not think it was Strep anymore I had a small feeling he still had this nasty virus.
The Virus that just won't quit
Thursday night around 8:30 I heard him crying in his room. I ran upstairs to see what was wrong and as I walked in he was holding his ear and repeating "My ear hurts mama, My ear hurts!" I wanted to jump for joy in that moment because that was the 1st time Landon could officially tell us something was wrong! So instead I offered him a dose of Motrin and planned on calling the doctor in the morning. At this point Quinn was starting the same symptoms Landon was. I took off of work and headed to see the doctor. Landon did indeed have a bad ear infection and Quinn was showing signs of the bad virus/cold coming on. We left with another round of antibiotics for Landon and a script for Quinn just in case. By Friday evening I had a VERY happy little boy at the Hawks game!!
Landon's "Happy Place!" HAWKS GAME!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBIE NANA!
Unfortunately Quinn is still under the weather but slowing feel a little better each day. We have not started any antibiotics for her but both of the kiddos will go back to the doctor's too have their ears checked one more time before we leave Saturday for FLORIDA!!!!!!!!
