Spring Break 2014 Part 1

Let's play catch up!  I just noticed that I have not posted in over a month so I have a few things to "catch up" on.  This year for Spring Break we headed down to Clearwater Beach, FL for some much needed warm weather and fun in the sun!!!  On the agenda was beach, pool, and a day trip to Disney!  As luck would have it we started our trip with a delayed flight to Florida.  Bad weather was headed that way and we experienced a 2hr delay in Chicago.  My mom and I did our best to keep the kids busy and happy.  Quinn spent a majority of her time running ALL OVER Midway while Landon played with his iPad or new toy Nana had bought him.
The "brief" moment Quinn was still!

We were lucky enough to grab pre-boarding passes for Southwest so once it was FINALLY time to load and leave we made our way towards the gate.  And then Landon lost it.  He was NOT getting on that plane and going down the jet way.  Poor kid had a sensory meltdown and I literally had to bear-hug him and head down towards the plane as the entire airport watched.  Luckily he had been wearing his "Please be patient I have Autism sweatshirt on" so I do believe people were a little more caring with our situation.  Once I was able to get him into his car seat and buckled in he settled down.

Nana's phone, the bink, and we are ALL good!

The kids BOTH did really well on the plane!  They each napped and then we enjoyed a little Wallykazam on the iPad until we landed!

Once the plane landed it was time to see TT-Markie and head off to our condo!  Our travel day was mostly a success and we were looking forward to the rest of our trip.
Day 2 the weather was VERY windy but sunny.  We decide to venture around Clearwater Beach to look at shops and sites.  We checked out the places we would want to go and enjoyed the sunshine.  We also took the kids to the pool for a little swim time!
The kids had a blast and each day on the beach got a little easier for Landon and Quinn.  The beach can be a huge sensory overload with new things.  The water, sand, and no scheduled nap schedule.  They each did great and enjoyed themselves.
