Quinny Ree:

My baby girl! Cannot believe a year ago we found out we were having a little princess. The joy your smile brings to all of us is contagious! You entered our world on 04/19/2012 and you have been determined from day one to make a name and place for yourself. You adore your big brother and your face lights up every time you see him. You are determined at 7 months to crawl and catch him but your little legs cannot figure out how to move with your arms. Of course your anxious mother is again watching milestones to be met and worries about you every day. We know your chance of Autism is about 20% and we are asked to have you evaluated at 15 months. Little did I know you would come at us with a different challenge. EATING! I was able to make enough milk for my little girl for months. You seemed to have been doing great with breast milk. We figured out at about 4 weeks that your little tummy could not handle Similac Formula. You got really sick and we were told to just stick with breast milk. Time flew by and we tried Gerber Gentle Formula to see if your growing belly could handle that. FAILURE...you got sick again pretty bad. Our doctor had suggested that we try Soy with you thinking that you may be Lactose Intolerant. I had no idea that could be determined so early. Of course you did not like the taste of Soy but we gave it to you mixed with breast milk and slowly introduced it. At the same time we were starting to introduce Stage 1 baby foods and things were rocky. My sweet baby girl because irritable and a horrible sleeper. Your daddy and I were exhausted! I knew something had to be wrong so I stopped all baby foods and Soy because you developed horrid hives when we upped your intake of Soy and decreased the breast milk. Back to the doctor we went! She had suggested no more Soy and baby food but a diet strictly of Breast Milk AND a trip to the Allergist for testing. During your skin test we found out you were allergic to Egg Yolk! So random and very weird. We were also asked to try you on an Amino Acid formula to help. So we introduced the formula with your breast milk thinking we were helping you. You had a really bad night and I had enough. I called a Pediatric GI and off to Children's we went. The final result: No more breast milk, no more milk, no more soy and no eggs. Our baby girl has a milk protein allergy as well as soy. Within 36 hours of a strict diet eliminating all causes our smiley, sweet baby girl was back. Sleep was headed in the right direction and we have a LIST of things you cannot eat.
